HOP HARVEST WREATH MAKING WORKSHOPAT WINDHOVER FARM, HOME OF NORTHERN GIRLS HOPYARD, DARWELL, AB ONSATURDAY, AUGUST 26, 2107 from 1pm to 4 pm
Mature hop bines have been draped in English pubs to celebrate harvest time as symbols of good fortune and abundance since the Middle Ages.
You will spend an afternoon building your own tradition by crafting a fresh hop harvest wreath to take home. We will have additional wild floral materials to add in to make your wreath suit your fancy.
What to expect: You will arrive around 1pm. We will welcome you to the Northern Girls Hopyard with refreshments & then take you on a short tour of the hopyard. We will celebrate the hops by harvesting your hop bine & you will bring it to the craft tables where we will have fun creating the wreaths. We will demonstrate various styles of wreath making and support you in taking home a wreath to enjoy fresh and then dried. You will be heading back to Edmonton by 4pm.
What to bring: The hopyard is out in the country where we have no running water and have a backhouse! We will be working outside, so bring your sun hat, light long sleeve shirt, sun screen, water bottle. Additional items to bring if you are keen: light garden gloves, kitchen scissors or secateurs. If you have any allergies, please let us know.
